Jesus died for you. Do you deserve it? Do you deserve the blood that was shed for you? Do you know the pain that He went through? It was not only the pain He felt when his wrists were nailed to the cross, but the pain of knowing that He would be seperated from His father on the time He was on the cross. Jaci Velasquez's Imagine me without you, the chorus goes: Imagine me without you, I'd be lost and so confused. I wouldn't last a day, I'd be afraid without you there to see me through. Imagine me without you, Lord, you know it's just impossible. Because of you. It's all brand new. My life is now worth while, I can't imagine me without you. Nevermind the excruciating pain that He would feel on the cross, but experiencing the pain without the father there next to you, can you do that? If you can't imagine yourself without God, do you think Jesus could? He was a hundred times closer to God than we are now. God was pouring out all His wrath, ON JESUS. Friends, He did no wrong, He was tempted just like you and me, but He never succumbed to it. Yet, He suffered there, and because God was punishing Jesus for all the sins that we commited. For hours, God let out all of His anger on Jesus, and because Jesus was like a sponge, absorbing all of our sins, God couldn't look at Him, God had forsaken Him, for that moment Jesus was on the cross, God left Him. That was why Jesus proclaimed, "Father, father, why have You forsaken me?" No words can describe how Jesus felt on the cross, the pain of losing that relationship with His father at that point was just unbearable. And imagine it, nails are biting deep into your skin, you have a crown of thorns on your head, and people jeering at you. What would you do? The last thing you would do is ask your father to forgive them. But that was what Jesus did. "Father forgive them, for they do not know what they're doing." Was Jesus crazy? Did you just hear Him forgive those people who tortured Him? No, He was not, He forgave them, just as He you and me. It was pure love, that Jesus would lay down His life for us, the people who most did not deserve it. We worship Him because simply, He rocks. He died on the cross, and He is with us everyday. Think about it, what Jesus did for you, IS THERE ANY LOVE GREATER THAN THIS?
